Different seaweeds from different colour groups can be used for a variety of benefits. Here we have used Bladderwrack for its anti-inflammatory reputation and its ability to detoxify and remineralise the body.
Regenerating Seaweed Beauty Bath
1/4 cup of dried seaweed such as bladderwrack
Steep seaweed of choice for at least 20 minutes in a quart of boiling hot water. Strain and add the water to your bath.
As you ease into your soothing seaweed bath, allow yourself to take in this natural & truly beneficial experience. For an added softening use a natural loofah to gently massage your skin to remove dead skin cells. You’ll emerge from your bath soft, refreshed and rejuvenated
Comforting Bladderwrack Infusion oil
1/2 cup dried bladderwrack flakes
1 cup olive oil
1 cup coconut oil
Optional: 1/2 cup beewax (if you prefer a salve to an oil)
Optional: Drops of essentail oil(s) of your choice to add an aromatic scent
Simmer the seaweed in the olive &coconut oils in a crock pot overnight (8-10 hours). Strain and pour in a jar; add aromatic essential oils if using and combine well.
Store in the fridge for long term use.
To use: warm the jar in a bath of warm water for ease of application. Just massage into aches & pains as needed.
