Irish Moss – Beauty Applications

Irish Moss is super rich in minerals and has wonderful detoxifying properties.

When applied topically it soothes and softens the skin, is anti-inflammatory, eases rashes, psoriasis, eczema and sunburns.
Added to creams, Irish Moss has also become known in the cosmetic industry for its anti aging effects. The effectiveness of the creams is credited to the high amounts of Vitamin K found in the moss which recent studies link to the elasticity of the skin. This translates into a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and things like bags or dark circles that can form around the eyes. Many lotions & masks now contain seaweed extracts as they have high concentration of important nutrients such as vitamins A, B, C, and E, which improving, in time, the skin’s capacity to retain essential lipids and moisture, lending it a healthy and radiant glow.
