Spirulina powder is produced from an alga that is not a seaweed. Classified as a bacteria-like organism, it grows in fresh or blackish water. Spirulina's nutritional characteristics have much in common with seaweed. Firstly, Spirulina is a complete food and nutritionally dense, ideal to replenish a malnourished body. Also, the powder is the highest source of vegetarian protein (up to 70%) on earth.
